We recently sat down with the owner of Blueprint to find out what makes their design shop successful. Here’s what we learned:
Name: Amanda Mans
Position: Principal of Blueprint Design Group, Inc.
Experience: Besides over twelve years of design experience, I’ve been told that I was born with a clipboard in my hand and crayons in my heart.
I hear you emphasizing “connection through design”. What are your favorite connections?: My husband, dog, design and a large bowl of homemade, vanilla ice cream.
Favorite design program: Illustrator
You say Blueprint loves smart design. What is “smart design?”: To me, smart design is similar to a great comedy. Like smart design, the comedy should work the first time you see it but also allow you to come back and find something new and fresh to appreciate every time.

How do you view your relationship with your clients?: I’ve always believed client relationships are true partnerships. Needless to say, our work should make a connection with its intended audience, but what makes that connection so successful is the relationship we have with our clients. Both Blueprint and our clients bring significant insights to the table. It’s advantageous to use those insights throughout the development of a project.
What is the next step for Blueprint? Blueprint is very proud of its growth. We hope to continue to thrive and build on our design experience. We work to avoid complacency and find new ways to be creative. We believe in not settling for obvious answers and always bringing a fresh perspective.
